BOGOTA, January 7 (UPI) - Eight soldiers died and five where wounded when guerrilla members from the 22nd front of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) attacked a group of 23 policemen from the Antiguerrilla Patrol.

The soldiers where heading from San Juan de Rio Seco county to Quipile in the Cundinamarca district in central Colombia.

The wounded soldiers where transported to Bogotá hospitals and, meanwhile, the Air Force is carrying out examinations in the area, looking for the rebels.
