Annan concerned about Nepal violence

UNITED NATIONS, Nov. 26 (UPI) -- A spokesman for Secretary-General Kofi Annan said Monday he "is deeply concerned at the flare-up of violence in Nepal" blamed on Maoist rebels. Spokesman Fred Eckhard said breaching a four-month cease-fire in more than one-third of the kingdom's districts resulted in a state-of-emergency declaration.
