The attack targeted a number 25 bus and injured at least 16 people, according to the Magen David Adom ambulance service.

The commander of the Jerusalem Police, Major General Mikki Levy, said a Border Policeman and a soldier killed one attacker.

However a man who identified himself only as "Marcus," a resident of the settlement of Mitzpeh Yericho, who was driving near the bus said he saw a gunman fire. "I got out of the car, emptied my (pistol's) magazine and he fell." Two soldiers then came and fired their M-16s, he said.
