UNITED NATIONS, Oct. 31 (UPI) -- The Security Council Wednesday unanimously endorsed the East Timor Constituent Assembly's choice of May 20, 2002, as the date to declare independence. The council also agreed with Secretary-General Kofi Annan's recommendation for a reduced peace keeping force in the former Portuguese colony.
