ISLAMABAD, Pakistan, Oct. 20 (UPI) -- A small bomb discovered at Islamabad International Airport exploded harmlessly Saturday after it was moved to a less damaging location. There were no injuries.

Bomb squad workers immediately removed the bag to a nearby bomb disposal ditch for detonation.

Officials tighted airport security and are investigating the incident. No one has claimed responsibility for planting the bomb.

After Pakistan declared support for the US-led war against terrorism, some militant groups have threatened to carry out attacks on Islamabad's airport and other facilities Pakistan granted access to the United States for strikes against Afghanistan.
