APEC ponders terror, economy, Powell

SHANGHI, China, Oct. 17 (UPI) -- Government ministers from Asia-Pacific nations began meetings Wednesday in Shanghai at a five-day economic conference that analysts expect to depart from the usual trade disputes and focus mainly on the U.S.-led war against terrorism. U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell was to arrive at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit Wednesday evening, to be followed Thursday by President George Bush.
