VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Oct. 16 (UPI) -- International humanitarian groups Tuesday slammed recent air drops of food in Afghanistan by U.S.-led forces, saying they put at risk people who needed to cross mine fields to get the packages, and did not ensure the food got into the right hands. The groups, including Oxfam and Doctors without Borders, said humanitarian workers could truck in aid more cost-effectively and distribute it properly.
