CMA helps businesses cut emissions

LONDON, Aug. 4 (UPI) -- The British Communications Management Association will help businesses reduce their carbon emissions.

The CMA said it will work with the Carbon Trust on a project to support U.K. businesses incorporate new technologies to reduce their emissions. It also encourages working from home and telecommuting or teleconferences.

The Carbon Intent project will be carried out in phases. During the first phase, CMA said, processes and systems that facilitate carbon emissions will be explored.

CMA said businesses are spending up to $26 billion a year to cut their emissions, and Carbon Intent aims to help companies continue to cut emissions without increasing operating costs. The British Computer Society is also involved in the project.
