ANKARA, Turkey, Oct. 3 (UPI) -- The State Oil Co. of Azerbaijan will next year start building a $4 billion oil refinery in Ceyhan, Turkey.
SOCAR President Rovnag Abdullayev told RIA Novosti that the refinery would have a capacity of 15 million tons annually and comprise a refinery and a petrochemicals unit.

The refinery will be close to Ceyhan, the destination of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline, which carries Azerbaijani crude to Europe, bypassing Russia.
Abdullayev said Turkey allocated land for the project and that a feasibility study was under way.
