Uzbekistan may raise gas prices

TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, July 28 (UPI) -- Uzbekistan may increase the price of natural gas exports, possibly because of a rift in prices among Russia, Turkmenistan, Ukraine and Belarus.

Interfax-Kazakhstan reports the Uzbek government hasn't decided how much to raise the price by, somewhere between $100 and $120 per 1,000 cubic meters.

An unnamed official at state-run oil and gas company Uzbekneftegaz said exports may be increased to market levels, depending on disagreements with the four other countries.
