CUPERTINO, Calif., June 3 (UPI) -- Beats Pill XL speakers, an Apple Inc. product, are being recalled due to a potential overheating problem, with refunds to customers.
The audio speakers have been a part of the Apple brand since 2014, when it bought the product's original retailer, Beats by Dre. The recall affects 222,000 speakers sold in the United States, and 11,000 in Canada. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said eight complaints regarding overheating had been received by Apple, including a customer who complained of a burned finger and another who referred to a burned desk.
