NORTHFIELD, Ill., March 17 (UPI) -- Kraft Foods Group on Tuesday issued a voluntary recall on about 242,000 cases of the original flavor of Kraft Macaroni & Cheese Dinner due to reports that some of the boxes contained metal fragments.

The recall includes only the 7.25-ounce size box of Macaroni & Cheese sold individually or in three-, four- or five-packs.

Customers should not eat products with "best when used by" dates between Sept. 18, 2015, and Oct. 11, 2015, stamped directly on the box.

The affected boxes also have the code "C2" stamped directly below the "best when used by" on the side of the box. That codes refers to the production line where the products were made.

No other varieties of Kraft products are included in the recall.

"Kraft has received eight consumer contacts about this product from the impacted line within this range of code dates and no injuries have been reported," a statement from Kraft said. "We deeply regret this situation and apologize to any consumers we have disappointed."
