DENVER, Feb. 8 (UPI) -- Chipotle's Twitter account and website were hacked late into Saturday night, and the Twitter account featured racist and bigoted statements.
The Twitter account's logo was changed to a swastika, and statements like "We are now in full support of the Nazi party" and "The meat has been poisoned" filled the feed.
The company's website temporarily redirected users to other Twitter accounts. Many of the racist tweets were associated with a specific Twitter account which has now been suspended.
Chipotle apologized for the statements made on their account and announced they had been hacked on Sunday.
We apologize for the very offensive messages sent out from our account earlier tonight. We were unfortunately hijacked temporarily. -Joe
