Crude oil closes down Friday

NEW YORK, Jan. 31 (UPI) -- Crude oil lost 74 cents in trading Friday to settle at $97.45 per barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.

Gasoline dropped 3 cents to reach $2.63 a gallon.

Home heating oil gained 6 cents to settle at $3.28 a gallon.

Natural gas lost 7 cents to close at $4.94 per million British thermal units.

The national average price of unleaded regular gasoline rose to $3.278 per gallon from Thursday's $3.275, the AAA Daily Fuel Gauge Report said.
