SEC sets up meeting with heads of U.S. stock exchanges

WASHINGTON, Aug. 27 (UPI) -- U.S. market regulators said Tuesday they would meet Sept. 12 with the heads of U.S. stock exchanges to review the latest trade disruption debacle.

Five days after a technical glitch disrupted trading on the Nasdaq exchange for about three hours, a spokesman for the Securities and Exchange Commission said the meeting would "address the market data dissemination system involved in last week's halt as well as other critical market systems and infrastructure issues."
