WASHINGTON, July 24 (UPI) -- Import firm Renaissance Imports of Mathews, N.C., is recalling 5,000 pairs of girls' boots due to an exposed staple in the sole of the boot, regulators said.
The staple is a laceration hazard, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said Tuesday.
The recall involves Autumn Run brand girls boots in Gemma II style. They have SKU number 0529-02613-1050, which can be found on a tag located inside the boot.
The boots, which were imported from China, were sold in sizes 5 to 11 with a paisley print fabric sash and a leather beaded strap tied around them.
The boots were sold from July through October of 2012 for about $23.
Consumers were advised to take the boots away from children and return them to any Academy Sports and Outdoors store for a full refund.
Consumers can call 877-632-2021 for information.
