Gold slips $1.20 Monday

NEW YORK, March 25 (UPI) -- The price for an ounce of gold shed $1.20 and settled at $1,604.90 Monday on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange.

Silver added 10 cents to closed at $28.80 an ounce.

The dollar index rose 0.63 percent to 82.90 on the International Exchange.

Against the dollar, the euro was at $1.2852 from Friday's $1.2948. Against the yen, the dollar was lower at 94.16 yen from 94.41 yen.
