Crude oil rises on Turkish, Syrian feud

NEW YORK, Oct. 9 (UPI) -- Crude oil prices rose above $92 per barrel Tuesday with tensions between Turkey and Syria adding pressure to the market.

Border skirmishes between the two countries have escalated, raising concern oil supplies could be disrupted with the conflict also affecting exports from Iraq.

On the New York Mercantile Exchange, West Texas Intermediate crude for November delivery added $1.38 to $92.20 per barrel. Natural gas prices gained 0.8 cents to $3.475 per million British thermal units. Home heating oil added 0.48 cents to $3.208 per gallon. Reformulated blendstock gasoline was up 1.38 cents to $2.9725 per gallon.

At the pump, the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline was $3.815 per gallon, down from Monday's $3.818, AAA reported.
