Big Lots recalls wooden swing sets

WASHINGTON, Sept. 26 (UPI) -- The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a voluntary recall of about 6,900 garden swings imported by Big Lots due to a fall hazard.

The seats of the wooden swings, sold as Wilson & Fisher Garden Swings, can break, allowing a user to fall, the watchdog agency said in a statement.

The garden swings were made in China and sold by Big Lots of Columbus, Ohio.

The swings were sold nationwide from March 2012 through June 2012 for about $130.

Big Lots has received several reports of falls from the swings, including descriptions of back pain as a result.

The wooden swing sets were sold as "log-style" benches with a natural wood finish. The swing hangs between two A-frame supports, which are held together by a top beam and braces.

They were sold exclusively at Big Lots as item number JY1107 with SKU number 210020400.

Consumers were advised to stop using the recalled swing sets and detach the bench seat and return it to a Big Lots store for a full refund.

Consumers were advised to destroy or discard the remaining components.

Consumers can call 866-244-5687 for information.
