Crude oil hovers at $93 a barrel

NEW YORK, Sept. 21 (UPI) -- Crude oil prices turned a cent higher Friday, hitting $93 per barrel as equities rose in Asia and Europe.

West Texas Intermediate crude oil for October delivery had an up-and-down week, making a run toward $100 per barrel Monday, and then sliding to less than $93 Thursday.

In the latest correction Friday on the New York Mercantile Exchange, crude oil added 1 cent to $93 per barrel.

Natural gas added 0.8 cents to $2.893 per million British thermal units. Home heating oil gained 0.48 cents to $3.1225 per gallon. Reformulated blendstock gasoline added 0.2 cents to $2.8215 per gallon.

At the pump, the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline was $3.833 per gallon, down from Thursday's $3.846, AAA reported.
