Grain futures mostly higher

CHICAGO, June 20 (UPI) -- Grain futures were mostly higher on the Chicago Board of Trade Wednesday with cooler weather expected in the center of the country, but little rain in sight.

With the dollar index virtually flat, corn was off 3/4 to up 3, soybeans were up 11 to up 15 3/4, wheat was up 12 to up 14 1/2 and oats were up 7 1/4 to up 8 1/2.

Dry weather is expected for the next 15 days, as corn pollination begins in some regions. Wheat prices headed higher Wednesday with Iraq issuing a tender for 50,000 metric tons and France rumored to sell 600,000 metric tons of milling wheat to Algeria. Soybean futures gained with some rain expected in the near term from eastern Nebraska to the northern plains.

Corn: Jly 6.11 3/4 off 3/4, Sep 5.68 3/4 up 1 1/4, Dec 5.66 1/2 up 3, Mar 5.77 3/4 up 2 3/4.

Soybeans: Jly 14.46 1/2 up 12 3/4, Aug 14.37 up 15 3/4, Sep 14.10 1/4 up 12 1/4, Nov 13.95 1/2 up 11.

Wheat: Jly 6.64 up 14 1/2, Sep 6.83 up 14, Dec 7.06 up 12 1/2, Mar 7.24 1/4 up 12.

Oats: Jly 3.25 up 1/2, Sep 3.02 3/4 off 4, Dec 2.95 1/2 up 1 1/4, Mar 3.00 1/4 up 3 3/4.
