Elegant Gifts recalls children's furniture

WASHINGTON, Jan. 6 (UPI) -- Elegant Gifts Mart Inc. of Los Angeles is recalling 1,600 chairs and 1,300 stools due to high levels of lead in the surface paint, regulators said.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said the chairs and stools, which were designed for children, have yellow surface paint that contains excessive levels of lead, which is prohibited under federal law.

Consumers were advised to take the tables and chairs away from children and return them to a 1 to Seven outlet or contact Elegant Gifts Mart for a full refund.
