Gold slighly lower Monday

NEW YORK, Dec. 12 (UPI) -- Gold prices ended trading slightly lower on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange Monday, dropping $6 to $1,662.20 an ounce.

Silver added 12 cents and closed at $31.13 an ounce.

The euro fell to $1.3187 from Friday's $1.3385. Against the yen, the dollar rose to 77.63 yen from Friday's 77.63 yen.

The British pound was $1.5599 from Friday's $1.5583. Against the Hong Kong dollar, the U.S. standard was 7.7819 HKD from 7.7835 HKD.

The dollar was $1.0269 against the Canadian dollar from $1.0235 Canadian. The Australian dollar was $1.0066 from $1.0073.
