Grains mostly higher Tuesday

CHICAGO, Nov. 22 (UPI) -- Grain futures closed mostly higher Tuesday on the Chicago Board of Trade, as equities were flat on Wall Street and the dollar was mixed in Asia and Europe.

Corn was up 1/4 to up 1 1/4, soybeans were up 4 to up 5, wheat was up 2 1/2 to up 6 1/4 and oats were off 1 1/2 to up 3 1/2.

Corn futures rose slightly in sympathy with rising energy prices. Wheat rose with Ethiopia in the market, buying 300,000 metric tons, presumably from the Black Sea region. Soybeans rose with support from strong demand from China, although weekly export sales are behind the pace needed to reach the U.S. Department of Agriculture's estimate.

The prices:

Corn: Dec 5.99 up 1 1/4, Mar 6.05 3/4 up 3/4, May 6.12 1/4 up 3/4, Jly 6.15 3/4 up 1/4.
