Grains mixed Monday

CHICAGO, Nov. 7 (UPI) -- Grains were mixed on the Chicago Board of Trade Monday, as equities on Wall Street started weak before ending up and the U.S. dollar index was flat.

Corn was off 1/2 to off 2 1/2, soybeans were off 17 3/4 to off 20 1/4, wheat was up 1 3/4 to up 3 and oats were off 2 1/2 to off 4.

Corn futures edged slightly lower with the crop's harvest putting pressure on pricing -- as storage facilities fill, prices tend to drop. Wheat traded slightly higher with traders expecting a 20 million-bushel draw in the ending stocks in the next U.S. Department of Agriculture supply/demand report. Soybeans closed sharply lower with estimates of production in South America expected to increase in the next USDA forecast.

Corn: Dec 6.53 1/4 off 2 1/2, Mar 6.65 1/4 off 1, May 6.72 3/4 off 1/2, Jly 6.76 3/4 off 1 1/2.

Soybeans: Nov 11.92 1/4 off 20 1/4, Jan 12.01 3/4 off 19 1/4, Mar 12.11 1/2 off 18 1/2, May 12.21 1/2 off 17 3/4.

Wheat: Dec 6.38 3/4 up 2, Mar 6.66 1/4 up 1 3/4, May 6.88 1/4 up 3 1/2, Jly 7.04 off 3.

Oats: Dec 3.25 off 4, Mar 3.34 off 3 1/2, May 3.42 off 2 1/2, Jly 3.47 off 2 1/2.
