Crude oil steady near $86

NEW YORK, Oct. 17 (UPI) -- Crude oil prices held steady at near $86 per barrel Monday on the New York Mercantile Exchange.

West Texas Intermediate crude lost 16 cents to $86.22 per barrel. Home heating oil prices gave up 1.35 cents to $3.001 per gallon. Reformulated blendstock gasoline prices lost 0.35 cents to $2.7394 per gallon.

Henry Hub natural gas prices held even at $3.688 per million British thermal units.

At the pump, the national average price of unleaded gasoline rose to $3.462 per gallon from Sunday's $3.457, AAA said.
