NEW YORK, Aug. 19 (UPI) -- Crude oil prices closed lower Friday on the New York Mercantile Exchange, off 12 cents to settle at $82.26 a barrel.
During intraday trading, crude oil traded as low as $79.17 a barrel.

Natural gas added 5 cents to end at $3.94 per million British thermal units Friday.
Gasoline gained 6 cents to $2.84 a gallon.
Home heating oil picked up 3 cents to finish the session at $2.90 a gallon.
At the pump, the national average price for a gallon of unleaded gasoline was unchanged at $3.585 per gallon, AAA said.
