Chrysler to recall 11,300 vehicles

WASHINGTON, June 20 (UPI) -- U.S. automaker Chrysler is recalling 11,351 vehicles among 12 different brands due to potentially missing rivets in the steering column, regulators said.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said the recall would begin "during June 2011."

The recall involved model year 2011 vehicles only, but includes Dodge Journey, Jeep Wrangler, Chrysler 200, Chrysler 200 Convertible, Dodge Avenger, Dodge Nitro, Jeep Liberty, Dodge Caliber, Jeep Compass, Jeep Patriot, Dodge Grand Caravan and Chrysler Town & County vehicles.

Chrysler said it would inspect and repair vehicles free of charge.
