U.S. markets recover from steep losses
SEOUL, Feb. 15 (UPI) -- Korean corporations Samsung Electronics and Hyundai Motor Co. say they are in talks about teaming up to install tablet computers in cars.
A Hyundai representative said Samsung was "one of the potential partners we have met," for the project to build what is termed "smart cars" with mobile phone or Internet capabilities built in.
Samsung confirmed the two companies were talking about a partnership, while a source said a deal is in the offing.
"They will sign a memorandum of understanding next week at the earliest, as most of the details have already been agreed upon," The Korea Times quoted an unidentified source as saying Tuesday.
"The convergence between IT and vehicles is thought by experts to be the next big thing. It is good for the foremost companies to join forces to enter the potential-laden markets."
