WASHINGTON, Jan. 22 (UPI) -- The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission said IKEA Home Furnishings is recalling double-walled glass mugs due to a laceration hazard.
About 13,000 RUND clear glass mugs were sold in the United States and an additional 3,000 were sold in Canada.
The inner glass wall of the double-walled mugs can break, posing a risk of injury to consumers, the commission said in a statement.
The mugs were imported from China and sold nationwide at IKEA stores from October 2009 through March 2010 for between $5 and $10.
The RUND glass mugs were sold in various sizes. They include "Hand Made Quality" printed on a small sticker on the side of the glass.
Consumers were advised to stop using the RUND mugs and return them to any IKEA Home Furnishings outlet for a full refund.
Consumers can call IKEA, which is based in Conshohocken, Pa., at 888-966-4532.
