Warren Buffett to leave Post board

WASHINGTON, Jan. 20 (UPI) -- U.S. business guru Warren Buffett, chairman of Berkshire Hathaway, said Thursday he was stepping down from the board of directors for The Washington Post Co.

He has been a board member twice -- once from 1974-1986, and again from 1996 until present, the Post said.

Berkshire Hathaway is the largest common shareholder in the Post. The 80-year-old Buffett is chairman of the Post board's finance committee and has advised Post Co. Chairman Donald Graham on financial matters of the company.
