Grain futures mixed Thursday

CHICAGO, Aug. 12 (UPI) -- Grain futures closed mixed on the Chicago Board of Trade Thursday as equities slumped for a second day on concern that the economic recovery had stalled.

Corn was up 10 to up 10 3/4, soybeans were up 9 1/3 to up 13 1/3 and oats were off 2 3/4 to off 3 1/4.

Corn prices rallied as exports for the past two days topped 1 million metric tons. Soybean futures climbed with Egypt purchasing 100,000 metric tons from U.S. sources Thursday.

Corn: Sep 4.06 1/4, up 10 3/4; Dec 4.21 3/4, up 10 3/4, Mar 4.34 3/4, up 10 1/2; May 4.42, up 10.

Soybeans: Aug 10.57, up 12 1/2; Sep 10.26, up 9 1/2; Nov 10.28 1/2, up 13; Jan 10.35, up 13 1/2.

Oats: Sep 2.72, off 2 3/4; Dec 2.85, off 3; Mar 2.93 1/2, off 3 1/4; May 3.00, off 2 3/4.
