Grain futures close lower Tuesday

CHICAGO, Aug. 10 (UPI) -- Grain futures closed lower Tuesday on the Chicago Board of Trade, with prices still finding a comfortable range in response to Russia's grain export ban.

Corn was off 8 1/2 to off 9 1/2, soybeans were off 12 1/4 to off 13 1/4, wheat was 6 3/4 to off 17 3/4 and oats were off 8 1/4.

Corn prices dropped with the dollar index closing up 0.19 percent. Wheat futures fell with losses in Russian wheat still under evaluation. Beneficial weather patterns, cooler temperatures and rain, weighed on soybean futures.

The prices:

Corn: Sep 3.93 1/2, off 9 1/2; Dec 4.09, off 9, Mar 4.23, off 8 3/4; May 4.31 1/2, off 8 1/2.

Soybeans: Aug 10.36 1/4, off 12 1/4; Sep 10.21 1/4, off 13 1/4; Nov 10.22, off 13; Jan 10.28 1/4, off 12 1/2.

Wheat: Sep 6.94 3/4, off 17 3/4; Dec 7.26 3/4, off 17; Mar 7.44 3/4, off 13; May 7.33, off 6 3/4.

Oats: Sep 2.71 1/2; Dec 2.84; Mar 2.92; May 2.99 -- all off 8 1/4.
