WASHINGTON, Aug. 9 (UPI) -- Grain futures closed mostly lower Monday on the Chicago Board of Trade, as the U.S. Department of Agriculture's weekly crop report showed crops in good shape.

Corn was off 1 to off 2, soybeans were off 10 1/2 to up 1 1/4, wheat was off 1/4 to off 13 1/4 and oats were up 1/4.

Corn prices dropped with the 90 percent of the crop listed in fair to excellent shape. Wheat futures fell after a sharp markup last week prompted by Russia's announced ban of grain exports. Soybean were listed as 91 percent in fair shape or better, weighing on prices Monday.

Corn rose on active trade in the wheat-corn spread as wheat traders took profits from long positions following this week's run-up. Soybeans found support in a lower dollar and the announcement of the sale of 326,000 tons of soybeans for the 2010-11 marketing year.

The prices:

Corn: Sep 4.03, off 2; Dec 4.18, off 2, Mar 4.31 3/4, off 1 1/4 May 440, off 1.
