Kraft divests itself of Cadbury in Romania

NORTHFIELD, Ill., July 7 (UPI) -- Kraft Foods said Wednesday it had agreed to sell the Romanian division of Cadbury to Oryxa Capital for an undisclosed sum.

In the deal, Kraft will part with Kandia-Excelent brand products, such as Rom, Magura, Kandia, Laura and Sugus.

The European Commission had made the sale of Kandia-Excelent and the sale of Cadbury's E. Wedel business in Poland a condition of Kraft's $19.6 billion purchase of Cadbury.

Kraft said June 28 it would sell E. Wedel to the Lotte Group, also for an undisclosed sum.
