Crude oil prices ease back Wednesday

NEW YORK, April 7 (UPI) -- Crude oil for May delivery settled in New York with prices falling under $86 per barrel.

The price of May delivery lost $1.13 from a prior settlement to $85.75 per barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange with the dollar index down 0.3 percent. Front-month contract heating oil futures for May delivery lost 0.0296 cents to $2.2387 per gallon. Reformulated gasoline blendstock dropped 0.0383 cents to $2.31 per gallon. Henry Hub natural gas prices shed 0.084 cents to $4.012 per million British thermal units.

At the pump, the national average price for a gallon of unleaded gasoline rose to $2.844 per gallon Wednesday from Tuesday's $2.83, AAA said.
