Panasonic TV tops Best of CES awards

LAS VEGAS, Jan. 10 (UPI) -- Judges of the CNET Best of CES 2010 awards said Panasonic's 3-D-enabled TC-PVT25 television earned Best of Show honors at the Las Vegas show.

The Las Vegas Sun said the Panasonic item topped Saturday's awards show at the Consumer Electronics Show thanks in part to its THX certification, 3-D capabilities and its optional Wi-Fi connection.

Also honored at Saturday's show was the Intel Wireless Display, which received a People's Voice award for allowing users to move high-definition content from a computer to a television via a single wireless box.

The award for best car technology and Global Positioning System went to Ford MyTouch while the Motorola Backflip topped all available cell phones and smart phones.

The Lenovo IdeaPad U1 Hybrid earned top honors in the category of computers and hardware and best Digital photo and video honors went to the new Eye-Fi.

The Sun said other winners included the Dell Alienware M11x for best gaming, Valups Tivit for best MP3 and portable video and the LG BD590 for best home theater.

The Panasonic TC-PVT25 also took home top television honors at Saturday's show.
