Lemons lose to limes on Southwest

DALLAS, Sept. 17 (UPI) -- Limes or lemons: one had to go and one could stay, and limes won out as a passenger favorite, U.S. carrier Southwest Airlines said.

Lemons, the airline said, will be grounded from now on, saving the airline about $100,000 a year.

"At the end of our 3,200 daily flights, we found an excess of lemons and needless waste," Southwest spokesman Brad Hawkins told The Dallas Morning News.

"It not only reduces waste, but we're going to save $100,000 annually," Hawkins said.
