Crude oil prices fall sharply

NEW YORK, June 22 (UPI) -- Crude oil prices fell sharply on the New York Mercantile Exchange, dropping below $67 per barrel after stocks extended last week's fizzle Monday.

Crude oil prices peaked above $72 per barrel last week. On Monday, prices fell $2.80 to $66.75 per barrel. Heating oil prices lost 0.0586 cents to $1.7281 per gallon. Reformulated blendstock gasoline slid 0.0739 cents to $1.8505 per gallon. Natural gas prices dropped 0.111 cents to $3.921 per million British thermal units.

At the pump, the average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline was $2.69 Monday, down from Sunday's $2.693 a gallon, AAA said.
