The Fort Worth (Texas) Star-Telegram reported Sunday details were not released.

"We believe the tentative agreement is fair and equitable," District Lodge 776 of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers said on its Web site.

The union was to vote on the proposal Sunday.

The union's existing three-year contract expires at midnight Sunday. If ratified, the contract will allow Lockheed to continue its operations uninterrupted as it accelerates production of early versions of the F-35 joint strike fighter.

The machinists union represents 3,500 production and maintenance employees, firefighters and nurses employed at Lockheed's Fort Worth plant.
