Dell offers glimpse of new Adamo laptop

LAS VEGAS, Jan. 10 (UPI) -- The Adama laptop computer briefly unveiled during a Las Vegas conference will be the newest luxury product from Dell, the computer company says.

Michael Tatelman, sales and marketing general manager for the company's consumer group, said at Friday's conference at the Palms hotel in Las Vegas that the Adama computer will "be the new luxury franchise in the Dell brand lineup," The Wall Street Journal reported.

The notebook personal computer was shown briefly to a group of reporters, allowing photos to be taken of the thin stylish new product, the Journal said.

The appearance of the laptop model at the Consumer Electronics Show conference confirmed weeks of rumors about a new high-end notebook computer being created by Dell, PC Magazine reported.

The magazine said while Dell would not give many specifics, the company said the product should be on the market sometime during the first half of the year.

Dell also used the Las Vegas conference to promote the company's new Dell Studio XPS 13 and Dell Studio XPS 16 laptops, which both start at $1,199.
