CHICAGO, Jan. 2 (UPI) -- Grains closed mostly higher on the Chicago Board of Trade Friday as crude oil prices gained slightly in New York and the dollar strengthened.
Corn was up 5 to up 5 1/4, soybeans were off 2 3/4 to off 3, wheat was up 1/4 to up 1 and oats were up 2.
Corn closed higher, although export figures for the week were below expectations. Wheat exports surpassed expectations, while a rally in crude oil offset gains in the dollar. Soybeans closed lower in spite of a 115,000 metric ton purchase announced by China.
