Grains mixed in Chicago Tuesday

CHICAGO, Dec. 2 (UPI) -- Grains closed mixed on the Chicago Board of Trade Tuesday after a light day of trading supported by gains in U.S. stock markets.

Corn was off 1/4 to off 3/4, soybeans were off 19 to off 19 3/4, wheat was unchanged to up 3/4 and oats were up 4 1/2.

Corn closed slightly lower although Mexico purchased 330,000 metric tons Tuesday. Wheat prices rose after Egypt raised a tender from 60,000 metric tons to 240,000 metric tons, a significant upswing even if the purchases were made in Russia and France. Soybeans fell on concerns that stockpiles in Argentina remain high.

Corn: Dec 3.32 1/2, off 1/4; Mar 3.48 1/4, off 1/2; May 3.59 1/2, off 1/2; Jul 3.70, off 3/4.

Soybeans: Jan 8.27, off 19; Mar 8.34 1/2, off 19 3/4; May 8.44, off 19 3/4; Jul 8.53, off 19 1/2.

Wheat: Dec 5.09 3/4, unchanged; Mar 5.28 1/2, up 1/2; May 5.42 1/4, up 1/2; Jul 5.55 1/2, up 3/4.

Oats: Dec 2.06 1/2, up 4 1/2; Mar 2.22, up 4 1/2; May 2.31 1/2, up 4 1/2; Jul 2.42, up 4 1/2.
