WASHINGTON, Nov. 27 (UPI) -- The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a voluntary recall of Ocean State Jobbers steel pots due to a burn hazard.
The stainless steel pots imported from India by Ocean State Jobbers Inc. of North Kingstown, R.I., have handles that can detach, presenting users with a serious burn hazard, the commission said.
About 7,000 of the pots sold as Century Cookware Stainless Steel Stockpots were sold throughout New England from July 2008 through October 2008 for between $15 and $25, the commission said.
The pots have two opposing metal handles and "Century Cookware" marked on the front and bottom.
Consumers were advised to stop using the recalled pots and return them the the appropriate retailer for a full refund.
