Grains trade mostly lower Friday

CHICAGO, June 20 (UPI) -- Grains traded mostly lower in Chicago Friday after the Department of Agriculture said 4 million acres have been lost to Midwest flooding this year.

Corn was off 5 3/4 to off 6 1/2; soybeans were off 12 1/2 to off 13; wheat was off 14 1/2 to off 14 3/4; oats were up 2 1/2 to up 3 1/4.

Corn broke from crude oil and traded lower Friday. Wheat traded lower with traders concerned rain in harvest-ready areas may give way to pathogens. Soybean traded lower with soybean areas expecting modest to light rain over the weekend.

Corn: Jul 7.21 1/4, off 6 1/2; Sep 7.35 1/2, off 6 1/4; Dec 7.55 1/2, off 6; Mar 7.70 1/4, off 5 3/4.

Soybeans: Jul 15.32 1/2, off 13; Aug 15.35, off 13; Sep 15.15 1/2, off 12 1/2; Nov 15.09, off 12 1/2.

Wheat: Jul 8.66 1/2, off 14 1/2; Sep 8.84 1/4, off 14 1/2; Dec 9.07 1/4, off 14 3/4; Mar 9.28 1/4, off 14 3/4.

Oats: Jul 4.15 1/2, up 2 1/2; Sep 4.28, up 3; Dec 4.45 1/4, up 3 1/4; Mar 4.60 1/4, up 3 1/4.
