Bosch hammer drills recalled

WASHINGTON, June 16 (UPI) -- The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a voluntary recall of Bosch hammer drills due to a risk of injury.

No injuries have been reported but the drills pose an injury risk because they can continue to operate after the trigger has been released, CPSC said.

About 9,700 of the hammer drills were sold nationwide between July 2007 and April 2008 for about $100.

Only hammer drills with serial numbers that begin with a 7 are involved in the recall. The drills are blue and have "BOSCH" printed on the side.

Consumers were advised to stop using the hammer drills immediately and contact Robert Bosch Tool Corp, of Mount Prospect, Ill., for a free repair.

Consumers can also call Bosch at 877-472-1007 for information.
