Dyson sues retailer for unpaid bill

CHICAGO, March 19 (UPI) -- British vacuum cleaner maker Dyson Inc. has filed suit in Chicago claiming retailer Linens 'N' Things Inc. has refused to pay a $1.3 million bill.

But, Linens 'N' Things' attorney Ron Gaswirth said Dyson still owes the retailer more than $1 million as reimbursement for defective products sold in 2007.

Gaswirth predicted the argument would be settled with a small payment or end up as "cash-neutral."

Dyson also wants Linens 'N' Things employees to stop making disparaging statements about Dyson. The suit claims one store posted a sign alluding to "production problems," at Dyson, Crain's Business Journal reported Wednesday.
