Children's metal necklaces are recalled

WASHINGTON, Feb. 25 (UPI) -- The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a voluntary recall of about 2,900 Chinese-made children's metal necklaces due to a health hazard.

The CPSC said the necklaces, imported by the Pecoware Co. Inc. of Chino, Calif., contain high levels of lead.

The cat necklaces were sold nationwide from January 2006 through July 2007, with the others sold from July 2007 through November 2007 for about $13.

Consumers can contact Pecoware at 800-456-7326 for instructions on returning the necklaces for a full refund.
