Polish airline restarts flights to Beijing

WARSAW, Poland, Jan. 17 (UPI) -- The Polish national air carrier LOT announced in Warsaw Wednesday it will restart flights to China after an eight-year hiatus.

LOT will begin flying to China with Boeing-767s three times a week, beginning in September, Radio Polonia reported.

The Polish airline said it will introduce Boeing-787 Dreamliners to its fleet next year, becoming Europe's first airline to acquire the new planes, the radio said.

The Dreamliners should replace the 767s by October 2008.

LOT plans to expand its flight operations in Asia in cooperation with Air China, the report said.
