PHOENIX, Dec. 20 (UPI) -- US Airways, which made an unsolicited $8 billion takeover bid to Delta Air Lines, says it's no surprise that Delta rejected its merger offer.
US Airways Chief Executive Officer Doug Parker called it just another step in the process and he's still confident the deal will go through.

Atlanta-based Delta announced its board of directors had unanimously rejected the offer from US Airways, which is based in Phoenix.
Delta filed a reorganization plan of its own, saying it can take more steps faster in its recovery from bankruptcy as an independent.
